I am looking for flights (from London) and hotels in Edinburgh for the bank holiday weekend and the total comes to £1000 plus!! The cheapest flight is £700 for 2 people.
Does anybody have any tip/ideas on how to bring this down?
Thanks

The Fringe is well under way and accom is crazy priced. The 4* Roxburgh last Sat was priced at £1000 per night as a result of the rugby also on.
I would be easyjeting it to Glasgow International and getting bus/train to from Edinburgh.
Flights are £90 ish rtn that way.
Edinburgh flights are around £150 rtn
or
You could ryanair it to Glasgow Preswick for around £80/£90. You can then get a bus direct to Edinburgh.Or by train straight from airport changing at glasgow.
I think you get half price train travel when you show your boarding card. see

As I said accom is at a premium but you can take your pick from this lot

Or try the train? Waverley Station is right in the centre of Edinburgh.Easy to jump on a train to one of the surrounding towns and save a fortune, it depends on how late you want to be in Edinburgh of an evening, or whether you want to take off and relax after dinnertime...?Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
