Recommend reasonable conservatory roof blinds please

Hi

I would like some conservatory roof blinds but am staggered at the cost. Around two thousand pounds. Does anyone know of a company that may be less please? (Midlands based)

Hi. I don't think that there is a much of a saving to be made for roof blinds if your looking for them to be expertly fitted by a reputable company. My cheapest quote for my 5m x 3m conservatory was £2500! For this price I was told that there would be light gaps up each side of the angled trusses and the blind would stop short at the top of the each piece of angled glass so wouldn't look that great. I have a glass roof and all the wiring that the blinds would slide on would make cleaning the glass difficult. Looking at how they were to be fitted I thought there must be a cheaper way. Me and the wife went to our local branch of Dunelm, picked a lightweight fabric which was dense enough to block out sunlight, bought some twist and fix curtain poles and have made our own for the tidy some of £174.32. You need to be able to use a sewing machine as there is as lot of stitching to do. Very happy with the end product. It stops the direct sunlight just as the manufactured blinds would have. It can all be put up or taken down in 10 mins. We made individual panels for each roof segment. Younger could make bigger panels to cover more segments if you wanted.
