  • I really recommend the Fire TV stick - we take it away if we're staying in uk hotels so we can watch stuff not available from the hotel service.

How do you use it like this? Does the hotel need to have wifi for it to work, or do you put a sim card in it?

Kindle fire is so different from the kindle ereader. If you liked your old basic, I'm sure you like this one. I'm getting one for my mum.

I've placed 6 orders today. The £3 no rush credit is a real sweetener for me! Very tempted by the fire stick myself. Already have chromecast, so don't *need* it, but it would be useful for streaming prime instant video to the tv.

I use to have a original basic kindle - liked it for an e reader as it was so light - and fitted in a small handbag. Then the screen froze so couldn't use it - replaced it with a Kindle Fire HD - which is so heavy to carry round in comparison - but great for iplayer downloads.

Might get one will have a think this evening need to think it through as I don't read loads.

The tv stick sounds great - we go on a couple of self catering breaks a year so would be good there. I don't have Sky as too expensive but have a Now TV box which the tv stick will replace. Got a free month of Prime and am off work for college holidays so can watch the Prime streaming until I cancel it.

I really recommend the amazon fire stick as well. I've had it and we've unplugged the ariel now as there is no point we exclusively stream tv

Nothing at all has tempted me in the prime offers.
I thought about the 39.99 kindle as I broke mine recently and I am looking to replace it however mine had a backlight and the one on offer doesn't so when reading at night I'd need to have a light on which my other half doesn't appreciate.
(However that one being so cheap is also putting me off buying the next model up as I feel like I'd be paying £70.00 more just for the light up screen.)

I did order a few small bits and bobs that I was planning on ordering anyway though to get the £3.00 digital credits you get when using no rush delivery so activating my free trail doesn't feel like a total waste.

I bought quite a few bits but most of them were things I needed and had already planned to buy but suspected they may be in prime day. A tablet for my son's birthday, gro blinds and some other presents for the boy. I was interested to look at the adult colouring books as I do enjoy them but they were more expensive than sainsburys!

It can only work on wifi.

We're going to a self-catering cottage next week that has wifi and I thought about taking ours, but I worry the cottage-owner doesn't have unlimited wifi and we'd give them a huge bill!

I made 6 orders, which included the fire tv stick (which I got with no rush delivery to get the £3 credit but they delivered it one day anyway as it went in with another order that I made anyway.

My purchases included a couple of pairs of crocs for the kids (£5.99), an emergency phone and ipad charger (£12.49 from £17.99) and a couple of interactive dinosaur train toys for my little boys birthday next week.

    Was pleased with my haul.

I'm not a happy bunny. We were awayfrom home in an area with poor signal...so walked out to get a signal. saw Fire Stick on offer and the Kindle Fire reduced to £59. Added to basket but didn't discount the kindle. Took a screen shot as wanted to get on with the hike. Got back and contacted them. Not interested.

Anyone else finding it didn't discount at confirmation?
