So I had a quick look but couldn't see a thread started for this yet........ strong chance old age getting the better of me and it is here somewhere already :rotfl:
I know how popular the Black Friday threads get, always good to chat about the non-existant KitchenAid

Nothing particularly interesting showing yet, right up to noon tomorrow - but who knows what might get added in?
I have a feeling it will turn out to be the usual Amazon anti-climax, but there are bound to be some bargains for somebody!

I know on Black Friday the deal *prices* are not released until the actual time (as opposed to it just being the time that you can buy, but on this for example:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004LD7GJU/ref=gb1h_img_m-3_5647_5e8062bc?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=11H6SXXQRMBXKPNKD5S5&pf_rd_i=6505293031&pf_rd_p=653735647
Jimmy Choo 60ml
RRP £50.95
Amazon £24.10 (saving 53%)
So will it be even cheaper than £24.10 at 6:20pm, just like Black Friday?
Sorry if that seems a daft question, but that might be quite the bargain........0 -

Possibly, BUT amazon have been known to change their prices shortly before going 'live', before revealing the lightning deal price when the specified time comes.
One example a couple of years or so ago - a DVD box set I was considering, usually retailed around the £30-£45 mark.
Amazon's price at the time was around £30-32.
Not long before the lightning deal, amazon shoved the price of the boxset up to something stupid like £60. Before revealing the deal price of (iirc) around £22. So I thought it was a decent deal, but not quite the stunner some people may have thought!
Overall, yes, there should be a reduction on the current amazon price. Fingers crossed!!
Keep your eyes peeled elsewhere too - the only things I was interested in last year's black friday, I actually in the end purchased at other retailers for the same price.0 -
Just had a quick look, I don't think there are any major bargains to be had they have basically put up the prices and made it look like you get loads off the RRP, I was keeping my eye out for a tomee tippee closer perfect prep i had this on alert from camelcamelcamel to notify me when it came down in price, and its been the lightening price not long ago (well the white one has a few times) so not exactly a bargain!
shame I wanted to get some bits for when the baby arrives in nov but I can prob get it cheaper elsewhere with glitches and codes in the future! lol 0 -
They haven't put the prices up, it's just the amount you "save" is based off RRP rather than what Amazon sell them for.
Looking at http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00UAT7BZI?ref_=gb1h_tit_m-4_9127_7a7a93ef&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE for example shows a pretty reasonable saving IMO, £200 off Amazon's normal price. I've seen other stuff with fairly nice amounts off Amazon's previous price too, granted its not technically 41% off but £200 off £1100 is still pretty generous.0 -

I doubt that very much as that would be illegal.
Can you give a specific example of a Prime Day Sale item where the price has been increased just for the sale?Every generation blames the one before...

Which is against the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Pricing Practices Guide* setting out the principles for fair trading - but although it's regarded as unfair trading it's unenforceable. And Amazon's far too big for UK Trading Standards to tackle anyway. The Advertising Standards Authority is 'looking into it' but that's been the case for a very long time!
*1.6 Comparisons with "Recommended Retail Price" or similar
1.6.1 You should not use a recommended retail price, or similar, as a basis of comparison which is not genuine, or if it differs significantly from the price at which the product is generally sold.0 -
Amazon are back to their old tricks with lightning deals. Our TomTom is on its last legs so I've been watching a new one, and using CamelCamelCamel to check its Amazon price. Since March it's been £79.99. It's in the Prime Deals at 12:10 today.
Having been £79.99 for months, today the "normal" Amazon price is £99.05. Place your bets now on the Prime "deal" being £79.99. :rotfl:
Maybe £75 if they're feeling generous.
EDIT: MobileSaver - if you still don't believe Amazon would do this, here's the item I'm talking about:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AILGDUC/ref=gb1h_img_m-4_9127_51b47377?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-4&pf_rd_r=1QWKR6HVRTKDMB4HQ863&pf_rd_i=6505293031&pf_rd_p=654169127
And here's its Amazon price history:
http://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/TomTom-Start-Maps-Lifetime-Updates/product/B00AILGDUC
Always check an item you're thinking of buying on CamelCamelCamel. Brilliant site.
EDIT 2: To be fair to Amazon... Recent price £79.99. Today's price £99.05. Deal price £64.99. Purchased.
