If it's you who are running Microsoft Security Essentials on XP be aware support ended today.

Install a different anti virus now.

    I have recently switched to using NOD 32 if anyone is after a recommendation. Extremely low CPU usage and have had no issues so far.

    As I posted in another thread, Anti Virus is only half the protection, zero days may still get by the AV and without security patches the holes there waiting to be exploited.

    Far better moving OS's too to something that receives patches, be that a Windows or *nix variant.
