java won't load

My pc will not run java and I'm getting error messages when attempting to view pages where it is required. They say the java runtime cannot be loaded and that I have more than one virtual machine running. I'm not techie and haven't a clue where to look or what to do to resolve it so will be glad of any help offered. It's driving me nuts!

I'm on windows XP (media centre pc) which had java pre-installed.,version JRE 1.5._02. I have zone labs anti-virus/firewall too if that's any use!

save trying to problem solve. uninstall all java. then log back into the site and it will promt you to download it. if not just use official java site after uninstall.

Try updating to the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment and try viewing your pages again. You may need to restart your PC after installing the latest JRE.

Thank you!! I found out I had 2 different versions of java programmes installed although no idea how I managed this .. .

I uninstalled the original version and downloaded the one in the link. After re-starting, all seems well and if I get any further problems I know what to do now. :beer:
