Parking Eye - unsuccessful appeal - help!

I have been parking in a private car park which charged £3 for the day,
unbeknown to me the car park became managed by parking eye and a tariff was put in place.
I did not see anything to say that price was going to change and in my usual rush to get to work paid my £3 and went off to work as normal.
Then one day I happened to notice a tariff on the wall of the car park as I had parked in a different place
and saw that it had gone up to £4 for the day, I bought another ticket (so I ended up spending £7).
Then a couple of weeks later I received two parking fines for two separate days from parking eye both for £60 if paid early.
I appealed the fines as I don't see how they can charge me £120 for an honest mistake.
They have not accepted my appeal.
It's obvious it was a mistake and that I did not realise that the tariff had changed
I did not see any notice and the signs are not very big.
It's obvious my intention was to park for the full day.
Can anyone help me with my appeal to popla please?
I sent parking eye a picture of the two tickets that I purchased on the day that I realised the price had increased
to try to show them it was an honest mistake
and how could they justify charging me £120 when I had underpaid by £1 for each day!

1. Read the NEWBIES sticky thread at top of forum
2. Then come back with what you have learned and tell us how you think you are going to proceed.
3. Dates of NtK from PE then date of their rejections are needed too.0 -
and take pictures of the signage too
plus, you have not been "fined" , these are not "fines"
thay are extortionate speculative invoices
no parking company can fine you, or me , or david cameron or eric pickles either
check the popla codes are valid and the expiry dates too0 -
I have pictures of the signage, how do you check that the popla codes are valid? By expiry dates do mean when the 28 days is up?
Thanks0 -
by reading the newbies sticky thread, and following the advice
yes, find out whan the 28 days are up and if the codes are valid (using the checker)
anytime you ask a question, you will be directed at the newbies thread, as all the info you need can be obtained from there (or the forum search box)0 -
I have tried to read the newbie thread and I find it hard to follow. I cant see any cases similar to mine. I will try the search box.
The codes are valid and the 28 days ends this Friday.0 -
I assume you found the parking cowboys code checker then ? (hope so)
your "circumstances" are irrelevant , you dont need "similar cases" all that matters is the legal argument appeal to popla , one for each pcn (even if they are identical , as you have more than one code - so if you have 2 pcn,s , 2 codes , you do it twice)
popla even say on their website they dont allow appeals based on unpaid payments or receipts or "tickets" , no mitigation, they wont rule in your favour on "mistakes" either , just legal challenges
there are hundreds of popla appeals on here from 2015 , some relate to your PPC too
just find a recent one, adapt it and plagiaraise it to make it your own, not difficult using the forum search box and suitable search words
then copy and paste from notepad onto here, minus personal info obviously, so we can skim read it and suggest any changes0 -
No I went onto popla and submitted code and assumed that it was ok. Been on cowboys code checker and it has said this:
Grounds for complaint
This code was generated 10 day(s) before the date of your appeal rejection letter. This means that you have not been given the full 28 days to appeal that you are entitled to under the British Parking Association's Code of Practice. Please consider making a complaint.
Thank you so much for your help. I will have a go at the letter, I probably wont have it ready until tomorrow night, once I have completed the letter I will post it on here.0 -
I have just recieved a letter from Miah Solicitors who are debt recovery and well known according to the blogs. The issue I have is that it alleges a parking offence/notice from april 2013, over 2 years ago. Can they do this?
At the time I have no idea where I was!! The location is given as Springstreet (yes joined up) with no other town detail. I plan to write back and tell them to shove it! Any better advice?0 -
A search of this sub-forum for Miah as the keyword will tell you all you need to know.
If you need further advice or discussion, please start your own new thread.0 -

The procedure here is that you need to start a new thread for yourself.
Brief answer to your question - yes, a creditor has 6 years to chase you for money they say you owe them0
