Going to upgrade windows 8 to windows 10-should I update 8?

Hi there,
I have reinstalled my acronis image of windows 8.1 (with most of my applications on it) and intend to update to windows 10 when it comes out.
My old image is almost a year old now august 14, so won't be using it much until I update to 10, just have updated avast and the cleaner, and antimalwarebytes.
There is 122 windows updates, but since I am going to update to windows 10 anyways when it comes out, should I even bother updating those, or just install the Update to windows 10 patch Nag screen icon if I see it on there?
Thanks

but may be easier to wait and upgrade from ISO (rather than Windows Update).0 -
have we actually had word that a ISO will be given? , I was under the impression that microsoft were only giving a free UPGRADE , much like the cheaper win 7/8 upgrade disks you see for sale0

With no service packs or new windows versions after W10, in 3 years or so those 122 updates are going to seem like small fry unless Microsoft make the W10 iso download a rolling iso.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Another 1GB plus of updates released today .0

I'm on Build 10166 as of Sunday. I got ISOs from Microsoft and used Rufus to make a boot USB and did a clean reinstall. You may have to sign up to the MS Windows Insider Preview, but it's a simple enough task. :cool:0

If you haven't already installed and activated the preview, it's too late (well until 29 July, anyway). The ISOs and the activation keys have been withdrawn for now.I'm on Build 10166 as of Sunday.
