Kardean poor fitting over floorboards

Hi all, first post so please be gentle. I had Kardean flooring fitted earlier this year by a local Carpet dealers, who I believe are a reputable company.
I chose the Christchurch Oak, from the Van Gogh range.
I live in a pre-war semi detached house, with timber floorboards throughout. Now, five months after the installation, I can see the lines of my old floor boards showing through the new Karndean.
I had the carpet fitter out and he suggests "this is just how it has lay", which I find unacceptable.
I have spoken with Karndean and they say that ply should always be used over timber floorboards but this was not the case. They have suggested I speak with the company again.
What I want to ask is, is there any governing body I can seek advice from, should the fitter decide not to play ball (which I think will be the case) or can anyone offer advice on what I should do next. Any help would be appreciated

Ply should ALWAYS be used over floorboards.
  • Agree with Firefox, the choice with Karndean, Amtico and similar products is ply or screed. The choice depends on what your subfloor is. The fitter is wrong, try asking Karndean for an inspection report on the fitting (you would have to pay for that probably) is your fitter an approved Karndean fitter? If he is there may be some redress through Karndean. I consider it unlikely though that an approved fitter would have bodged the job that badly though.
