This may be the latest stunt being pulled by CP Plus.
Charge Notice issued on the 17th June for overstay in motorway services. Challenged on the 2nd July with proof that the vehicle had broken down.
No reply to the challenge but the same Charge Notice re-issued under a different number on the 9th July. How bad is that. No reply, no POPLA refernce code just a rehash of the original so now we have one alleged offence but two tickets.
Brilliant Stratergy!!!!

Presumably this was at a MOTO service area.
Have you complained to MOTO HQ that you were broken down and two charges have been raised?.
A complaint to the BPA is in order also to The Department for Transport.
Get another soft appeal into CP plus just to ensure you don't run out of time and get a POPLA code for both The £54 or so POPLA appeal charges might get them to be a bit more diligent.
Come back when you get through this bit as this will easily be beaten at POPLA if stupidly they don't cancel.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -

Thanks for your comments,
I've only just received the second and was intending to wait until they were out of time which i need to check. Is it 28 days or 56 days?
I'll certainly challenge the second one as per the first. The Services were Roadchef, Chester.
I'll certainly do as you suggest and complain. Be interesting to see if they are reading the MSE posts by their forthcoming reactions.0 -
I think it's 35 days for an appeal. Look up the BPA code of practice.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0

I think MOTO are only operators, so CP might not have a contract with the land owner if pulled up.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

I think you might be right. The owners of the site appear to be Shell UK retail operations.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
Looks like 14 days to respond and 35 days to seek additional info and respond.Doesn't say from the date of service or date of appeal so presumably its the date of the appeal lertter so the first will be out of date any day now. Nice.
22.8 You must acknowledge or reply to the challenge within 14 days of receiving it. If at first you only acknowledge
the challenge, or your reply does not fully resolve it,
normally we would expect you to seek the additional
information you require from the motorist and accept
or reject the challenge in writing not more than 35
days after the information required to resolve it has
been received from the motorist.
