Santander's Flexiplan Premium Care cover

I'm a Santander customer and have a Flexiplan account. I have noted an additional charge of Flexiplan Premium Care. I tried deleting it on online banking and after a few weeks it was put back on. I'm not sure if this cover is legal or not?

Did you cancel the contract with them or did you just remove the payment?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thank you for your response.
I just cancelled the online payment.
I never signed any contract for that cover now that I remember.
Should I claim this back from them for the past payments?0 -
Bank internal products often dont use the direct debit system but an internal payments system. So, often you cant cancel them yourself without contacting the bank first.I never signed any contract for that cover now that I remember.
Signatures are not required on many things like this. However, cancelling contracts does normally require some contact.Should I claim this back from them for the past payments?
You are entitled to make a complaint and see what they say. I cant really comment as you havent given any indication of a complaint reason in your posts so far.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I haven't complained to the bank but I wasn't told of this cover and when I saw it in the list of standing orders, I deleted it. I found out it's been put back on. So I will make a noise with them on this.0
