Help !!!!!!!

Whilst at a well known uk supermarket. The trolley boy rammed my car resulting in damage to my rear bumper. Their insurance company said they'd pay. I've submitted quotes. Had a letter stating that I'm to send them an invoice once repairs have been carried out and they will issue me with payment.
The car is 10 years old and has many dents so getting one bit repaired is pointless.
Am I not allowed to just ask for a cheque up front.
Help please 😕
Thanks

    Anyone able to help. Please
  • Yes, you can ask for cash in-lieu of repairs, which will normally be the total estimated cost of repairs, minus the VAT.

Put that to them and see if they will agree.

until they view the cctv and see it was hit in a single place and report you for fraud

not a good move lying about damage caused in a place that's covered in cctv

This is the email that I'm going to send them. Do you think its ok, or do i need to add anything to it.
    Thanks.

"Thank you for getting back to me with regards to the estimates I provided.

I would like to request that I be able to have payment less the VAT rather than have the repairs carried out.

I look forward to hearing from you with regards to this matter.

    Thank you"

I would like to settle this matter on a cash in-lieu of repairs basis and request that you make payment for the repair costs less the VAT, namely £

I look forward to hearing from you with payment within the next 14 days to conclude matters.

    Thank you"

(presumably the estimates are not all the same price so pick the middle one in the interests of being reasonable)

If you're not having it repaired, and it's barely made any change to the car given the number of other dents that you haven't had repaired ... Why do you want any money? It hasn't caused you any hardship so there's nothing to recompense you for.
