Parking fine

Options
Hello,

yesterday I got a fine (from smart parking) for parking in asda without a pay and display ticket. You are allowed to park without a ticket for 20 minutes and that's what I did but the operator wrote down that I arrived at 14.45 (he has no evidence about it) and got the fine at 15.06, only 1 minute after the allowed time. I have got a shopping receipt which states that I finished shopping at 15.08. I spoke to the operator and he said that I have to appeal. I also spoke to the store manager and complained about it saying that I am a paying customer and that it is harassment to threaten me with a fake fine. He took all the details and said he will call SP but also said that probably he will not be able to cancel the fine! Anyways, tomorrow he will call me to let me know the outcome !
What should I do next? Do I still have to appeal to SP?

Thanks for your help

If the manager say's no .... then tell him you are on a internet forum where the best advice is and they say you will not be paying ....

    and ...

you will write to head office to tel them that you will never darken Asda 's doorstep again !

in the mean time follow the good advice above and start treading up .....

    Hi guys,

    GOOD NEWS!
Waited all day for asda manager's telephone call (which never arrived) so at 20.45 I decided to call. He was off so I explained to another manager what happened and was told to go to the store and she would cancel the ticket for me. So I did and got it cancelled! Hooray :-)

Thank you all for your advise

make sure this happens in writing, especially from not so smart parking

if you get any NTK or whatever, appeal it and complain to the manager again

dont let it rest and then find out you have an alleged debt that they should have cancelled

its cancelled when not so smart say it is

    but well done !
  • I have got a printed and signed copy of the cancellation!
