Any need for normal Egg card now that I have Egg Money?

Options
Hi,

I've always kept my Egg card even though I don't use it, as it used to be a useful one to have. However I've recently got an Egg Money card, and I think also that the usefulness of an Egg card is no longer what it used to be, since they have changed their Ts and Cs.

I am wanting to cancel the normal Egg card and just keep the Egg Money - I am not missing out on anything by doing this am I?

Thanks.

Yes it does charge a fee some of the time - and so can be tricky to use for super balance transfers... It could be worth closing the account now and applying in 12 months (current offer is 12 months with fee but that might change)

Some people with Egg VISA have been getting an offer of 5.9% life-of-balance with no fee recently. It may be by 'invitation-only' (however)

Were you to phone up and ask about closing the account it is possible they may offer you something like this.

    1. The (usually) higher credit limit offered on the Egg Card (in case of emergency), although there are other cards you could apply for..

    2. The Egg Card anniversary offer? (although it now carries a 2.5% BT fee)

If you never use it it just shows as more available credit on your credit report which may not be to your advantage. I closed mine 2 months after getting Egg Money card.
