Anyone got experience of OVO Smart meters?

I've just booked in to have smart meters installed by OVO and fitted on their behalf by Siemens.
Has anyone else got smart meters and what's you overran experience of them? Positive or negative?

The same question was asked a couple of days ago and this thread was quoted https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5119943
You will notice from some of the replies in it that I have a smart meter with Ovo and had quite a few problems early on.
A year later and everything is working well and I am pleased I stayed with it.0 -

I'm in the middle of having my complaint dealt with. I have some progress.
Siemens turned up on time and installed the gas and electric meters. However, the commissioning failed. I was told by the technician that the 3G connection was adequate (strength 10 out of 25) but that the meters would not connect with the Canadian server.
Subsequently, the Smart Gateway turned up in the post. That failed to work (presumably because the Smart Meter was not working).
Ovo told me that I should be worried because I now had a new dumb meter replacing an old dumb meter and I was no worse off than I was in the first place.
I took this to the complaint procedure.
Ovo has agreed to follow through all actions until the meters and the Smart Gateway are working.
The first action was to obtain a bill comprising readings from the old meters and new meters. I am told now that data is being received yet intermittently from the smart meters. Today I received the bill.
I have asked whether they will fit an external aerial. No response as yet.
I am told that after I receive the bill the WAN light will flash. Not flashing yet.
The complaints' officer will telephone me to talk me through connecting the Smart Gateway which appears to need his intervention.
I will update in due course.
For solar users, the unfortunate downside of taking the meters is that you lose your 50% deemed export payment which is replaced by an actual export payment.
It is hard work. I hope that it is going to sort itself out.
Upside is that the complaints' officer is very helpful.I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0
