  • I wouldn't buy a Zafira with somebody elses money. Horrendous cars. Mate owns a garage and is fed up of seeing them.
Anything thats German or Japanese won't have any problems.
This country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down

I have a Toyota Avensis Verso and it's fab. They don't make them any more but you may be able to pick up one that's a couple of years old.

7 "proper" seats, easy to drive and park and I've had mine over 4 years and all it's cost me in new parts is 4 tyres, 2 brake pads and wiper blades. My mechanic says it's brilliant and so reliable - he wanted his brother to get one, but he got a VW Touran which he (mechanic) hates.

It doesn't cost me a fortune to run and my insurance is very reasonable too. I tend to run it with 3 rows of 2 seats and only put the middle one in with 7 people (obviously) so we can get into the back without having to pull the middle seats forward - which you can't do with a baby seat in. I can easily walk around the car from front to back to get to all seats (I'm 5ft 5)

Wow! thanks, I will go and do my homework...
I was also recommended the Previa - anyones thoughts on that would be great.

    thanks

I've owned 3 Previas. Had them all the time the kids were growing up and thought them fantastic in terms of comfort, versatility and space. Still regularly have 6 or 7 teenagers in it when I do the school run! Can carry just about anything, including 4 bikes, the camping equipment and the whole family when off on hols.
Despite the size, easy enough to drive and lovely high driving position, giving good visibility. Very reliable, but not exactly economical - long time since I tried working out mpg, but I usually get 340 miles out of a tank, so would suspect only 25-28mpg.
    Hope that helps
