VINCI Parking Fine - Advice please!

I have received a parking fine from Bletchley Train Station asking me to pay £45. I attempted to pay for parking over the phone, then text messaging service but received a message to say they are "experiencing technical difficulties with the service". I was on the train at this point (the sign allows you 30 mins from parking to pay).

I've read many forum posts (incl Newbies) about whether to ignore the notices or pay the fine as they are a private company, not council run. I have written an email to appeal the fine based on the information above. The email address is for 'vinci.co.uk', but the parking ticket is headed "Meteor Parking Ltd. Company number: 2362957.

Can anyone advise on next steps (they will inevitably reject my appeal)?

    Hello Quentin,

I have read through this - can you post the link you are referring to though?

Are parking fines not attached to the car though? They would be able to see that I am the legal driver / get my address?

"They" don't know who the driver is unless you tell them.

The stickie explains all about not admitting who the driver was.

Its not a parking fine it is a parking invoice
The bent MP's changed the law to help these crooks ripp off the public.
The keeper is now liable for the scam.
I do Contracts, all day every day.
  • So, it is registered to me as the legal keeper of the car? They can easily find who I am then?

I am unable to upload a photo of the notice as I'm a new member!

It's a 'Parking Charge Notice', where do I find a POPLA number?

some people who drive a car are not the RK

RK details are sold to almost any ppc that asks for them

the RK can be held responsible if POFA2012 criteria are met and the land is "relevant land"

redacted pics can be hosted on tinypic or photobucket and a dead link provided in your reply (change http to hxxp)

so no personal info or references or codes

when you get the rejection from vinci (or met), the popla code should be included
  • Sorry for being a little stupid, please explain:

RK details are sold to almost any ppc that asks for them - what is PPC? and how do you mean 'sold'?
Surely, the fine company can just look up the registration number and get hold of me as the RK?

    there is no "fine company"

they cannot issue a fine , merely an invoice, so you have an invoice

the NEWBIES thread explains acronyms , please read it

redacted means hide the personal info , with a post it or pieces of cardboard etc

tinypic or photobucket will host your pictures

copy and paste the url into your reply, change the http to hxxp , then press submit

these companies have links to the DVLA database, they pay the DVLA to look up the data , linking your reg plate with your name and address as RK
  • "these companies have links to the DVLA database, they pay the DVLA to look up the data , linking your reg plate with your name and address as RK" - so, they now know that I am the RK, which means that they will now bombard me with letters to my home address summoning court action?
