Freeview

After ditching useless Virgin, I need to get myself Freeview.

Couple of Q.

Do you need to attach it to your external ariel (on the roof)? i think mine is broken.

Also, what is the best price for one with a card slot?

Yes you need an external aerial, if you are very lucky you may get good reception with indoor one, but unless you live next to the transmitter or on top of a mountain /20 storey building this is unlikely

I have just had a new aerial fitted as my old one was busted. £90 for supply & fit including all new cable from roof to TV
    Numerus non sum
  • Damn, so i need to buy a box plus an ariel!!!!
  • Damn, £90, not worth it. That means I have no TV until I move house. The missus will be happy!!!!

Tesco have Setanta freeview boxes at £40 I think, and Asda do wideband aerials for £15 if you feel like climbing up on the roof.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

The old ITV freeview stb ON Digital, are incompatible with the new viewing cards for pay view. They still work for free-to-air channels though.

Erm I have 2 freeview boxes with aerials attached to them with no need for ladder climbing and they work exceptionally well and I dont live next to any of the 2 ;)

Argos has card slotted boxes, Sagem ones for something like £39.99.
