Cheapest flight to Sri Lanka in December

Hi
Going to Sri Lanka in December (leaving on the 15th of after and coming back on the 1st or 2nd of January 2008) The cheapest amount I can get is £644 on travelocity.co.uk
Can someone else find a better price ? I got a cheaper amount on dialaflight but getting mixed reviews about this site (bookings on overbooked flights, no seats available) can anyone confirm if they are any good ?
I wouldnt mind getting a couple of nights in a hotel if that is going to sweeten the deal - but cant find anything good.
Hoping the collective knowledge of the MSE will help
Thanks

Dial a flight booked me to australia no problems at alltravelover0 -
Taking a quick look, it's not a bad fare. Most airlines start at £600+tax for Colombo for Xmas / NY. I'd be wary about hanging around too long for something better. Especially considering your return dates.
Just seen you put it in beat my quote - you got £450 for Dec 15th - 1st? Including tax? That's excellent. Dial-a-flight are very big, and reliable as well. I hope they are holding it for you, or you could lose it.0 -

Thats what I got when I went through their website. Was not sure how reliable they are cos I got mixed reviews when I checked some sites. Common complaint was that they quote prices for overbooked flights (which might not be a problem here given how far out the departure date is).
Wish I could book it right now - but wifey just called to let me know that the departure date might need to change because of work :mad:I have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0 -
Have you tried airline network website?...thats who we normally fly with to Sri Lanka. It normally works out that Qatar airways are the cheapest with a stopover (which normally makes a welcome break from flying and we've done this four times now and have had a stopover of approx 3-5 hours. Its surprising how quick the time gos.0

theres loads of charter flights go to srilanka, my sister got one for about 180 return, Ive seen them for this price week in week out- but its more like October when these fares get released. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I'm going there for the Cricket in December, and there's the rub. You'll find the chances of a cheap flights about as rare as Rocking horse !!!!!!!
I'm using Royal Jordanian via Amman, and speding a few days there. Return including stopovers £416. Qatar and Kuwait Airlines were doing some deals several months ago, but I expect they've all gone.
Sorry!0
