Alternatively fit a box on the wall so it looks like you're one of the many with systems and the bad people go elsewhere?

Unfortunately having a box on the wall doesnt work these days as my neighbour found out by getting burgled.

Security is about layers of protection, decent locks and doors, alarm, lighting, home safe and even cctv etc.

We have all of this which many think is overkill but then im not the one worrying when we go on holiday.

I have a diy one a Yale which was easy to install even for me-although a friend on a ladder with a drill put box on outside. I Am in fairly low crime area and have not declared it on my insurance as it's not monitored by company or anything.its really more of a safety thing for me as a singleton plus I can set it so if alarm does go off then it texts me to tell me I am being burgled. Bonus
