I purchased a new lap top recently sporting windows 8.
Previously I tapped into wifi using my bosses BT Business user details to BT Wifi / BT Fon and received a fairly good signal / service.
My new lap top does not remember the password so I purchased BT wifi personally for £39 for the month.
The signal varies between 2 and full however I there are times when I could be lose the signal and need to re log in upto 10 times in a 5 minute period with other times being maybe once every 20 minutes.
I've spoken to BT and their solution is to move my computer nearer the signal.
Is it a problem with the signal (That on my old lap top / bosses password) has no real problems) or could it be a problem with the settings in my lap top?
Thanks

Perhaps the new laptop has a poorer quality Wi-Fi card thus looses signal more easily.
Coupled with the fact that BT Wi-Fi access points demand login details each time a session is established and don't tend to remember them is likely your problem.
I'd say it's the laptop.0 -
Do you have an Android phone if so download one of the many Wifi signal apps and measure the BT Fon wifi signal .0

Thanks.
I've gone from a four year old Toshiba (From new) to a brand new Dell.
When I lose connection, it only needs me to log back in through the BT login page about 10% of the time. The rest of the time I just re click on the BT fon and disconnect and reconnect.0
