I have 2 phones, they're not sold as waterproof but one broke when left in the rain and the other didn't. Can I claim because one still works?
No...

there are VERY few shoes which are guaranteed waterproof
leather is a natural product and it's breathable qualities mean that as well as letting sweat out - it will let water in
I worked in a shoe store with very prestigious brands in the 1980's and fewer than 5% were guaranteed waterproof.
most shoes will be marketed as " water resistant" - which is different.
the advice to spray with a waterproofing spray is quite valid and will do the trick0 -
I was looking for help and advice, not facetious comments. However if both your mobiles were exactly the same I would expect them to react the weather conditions the same way.mattyprice4004 wrote: »I have 2 phones, they're not sold as waterproof but one broke when left in the rain and the other didn't. As you say very few are waterproof..goretex lined ones are great
Are the sketchers leather?
Only waterproof shoes will not let water in at the lace holes0 -
Surely any footwear with laces can't possibly be 100% waterproof? Have you ever wondered why wellington boots don't have laces?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Totally incorrect.
I've got (and had) several pairs of gotetex lined footwear and they have all had laces and been waterproof. The tongue can easily be sewed in (google for bellows tongue) and lined.0 -
