Well dos hope the car is ok. We have ours going in on Thursday.
It will soon feel like it never happened and you can enjoy the money you were paying out monthly, then wonder how with it you ever got to needing a DMP. :j

I don't post much these days but still read "our" thread and this news has put the biggest smile on my face. Will be cheering you on all the way to the Debt Free Roll of Honour thread :j

Good luck with the MOT, will have fingers and everything else crossed for you!

Thank you one and all. :hello: Hi TTFTM nice to see you!

MOT day tomorrow, nervously biting fingernails! Spanner in the works already, OH's overtime money didn't come through yet again. This happens every time he does overtime. I don't know who they've got working in their payroll dept. but they are seriously administratively challenged! I was kind of banking on this to cover any unexpected MOT expense. Oh well s**t happens as they say!

Good luck with your car rainbowgirl, and will keep you all posted on my progress tomorrow!

    Evening all,

Has anyone had any dealings with Lloyds overdraft (originally a student account). They told me over the phone they'd accepted my DMP (SC), but now have written to me to say they've extended my OD temporarily and this will decrease each month, this'll negating the over limit charge - but are still charging me Healy £35 a month interest! I do need to call them, but wondered if anyone had any advice?

    Thanking you muchly x

Sorry you're having problems with Lloyds:(. Join the club!

I have a CC with them (no problems, interest stopped at the start of the DMP:j) but my overdraft is a different matter. It was only £300 to start with and never overlimit. It is being paid off on the DMP (which they were happy to agree to) but they are still charging OD 'usage fees' as well as the 'normal' OD fees. We're only talking very small amounts here but it means that I'm paying more in fees then the full payment from SC so my debt isn't decreasing at all, it's increasing slightly.

I intend to pay it off in full whenever I manage to scrape together some spare cash. Although I'm not using the account at all it is still classed as 'open' so maybe that's the cause of my problem. I managed to pay a chunk off last month and it now stands at £170 ish so I'll try to get rid of it once and for all early in the New Year.

I don't really want to close it as it's a 'proper' current account. The one I use for everything now is the basic 'no-frills' Cashcard account I took out with Nationwide when I started my DMP and had to open a 'clean' account.

    Good Luck:beer:

Hi all, haven't posted for a while and need to catch up :)

Needed to share this - I have successfully completed Stoptober and am now a non smoker :j This makes me so happy as (apart from all the numerous other benefits) there is no way I can afford I! (Either before the DMP or now I'm on it!) :j

In DMP news, I need to make some changes to my budget today as received new CTC award based on the changes in my income/work hours. We aren't loosing too much at the moment but come April they will reduce dramatically as the new financial year occurs based on my new earnings (which is totally how it should be) Do you think I should call up and explain this to Stepchange or just simply complete a budget review online now and then again in April? I don't want to annoy Stepchange or my creditors - I imagine my monthly payment will increase a fair bit now then have to reduce a lot later.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I personally wouldn't do your review at the moment and stash any extra away for emergencies/full & finals further down the line, then do your review in April with the new reduced figures.

Thanks Puzz. Your idea does make a lot of sense, I'm thinking particulaly regarding a F&F for our lowest debt. There will also be a very significant change in April so any increased payment will probably be reduced to lower than what it is now (although things will happily change again September when my eldest starts school and childcare will significantly reduce). But would I get into trouble for this? I would hate for Stepchange to cancel their help or for the creditors to take action against me.

    Thanks

Unless we are talking millions then no, they will only know if you tell them!

:wave:Evening everyone. Well the car news is bad. It only failed the MOT on brakes but they reckon the head gasket is on it's way out. There's oil in the engine and the fan is on permanently. They are quoting £800 to fix it. I'm not sure the car is worth it. It cost me £1500 to buy it three years ago.

I took it to the place where they fit cars quickly, OH thinks they are expensive so I am getting a second opinion tomorrow and see where that takes me.:(

When did you originally open these card accounts ?

Have you done CCA requests at all ?

I haven't, but they were within the last nine years
The way things are going, soon we are all going to be victims of something or other.

    Who will we blame then?
