The letters all came through to say accounts had been cleared. Since then, nothing. Life has gone on as normal. No angry letters, not paper threats through the door and i can actually budget myself for pretty much the first time in my adult life. It's bizarre, it's like it never happened!
To those still in their DMP, or about to embark on one, or facing up to the reality that they are in debt and need help - you're not alone. Everyone on this forum is either currently or has historically been in debt, we're all in the same boat, and it might feel like an unwinnable battle, but the confirmation letters at the end of it all make it worth it. Believe me.
As some mau be aware I oped to use a paid DMP in Gregory Pennington, i was tempted to switch to SC many times but the advice i got from them, coupled wth the fact they seemed to get the job done, made me stay with them. There are of course free alternatives and if I had to do it again I'd use them, but GP were the first ones to contact me and were professional and friendly throughout, so i gave them the benefit of this and carried on with them.
Keep rocking it guys, you will all get there one day, and the feeling at the end of it is more than worth it.
Thank you - We're just at the start of our journey and it feels tough. Lovely to hear success stories. Round of applause to you.

Well done for becoming debt free.
Please don't think I'm having a go at you, but I just don't want anyone reading this, who is contemplating a DMP, to be tempted to use a fee charging company.
Gregory Pennington fees
A management fee will be charged of 18.5% of your regular payment to the Debt Management Plan (DMP) (this could be every four weeks or monthly depending what suits you best and when you receive your regular income), and is subject to a minimum of £38.50 and a maximum of £90. This fee covers the month-to-month running of your DMP, including negotiating with your lenders, distributing payments and taking care of correspondence between you and your lenders.
This fee also covers our regular reviews of your circumstances - normally once every 12 months.
Stepchange and payplan will do exactly the same thing for you for free.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. So, someone using the above company with debts of pies amount, would roughly be overall, paying an extra £1,500 in fees!?!?!! No wonder these companies like the hard sell.....LBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid
£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,7640 -

Basically your paying them £40 plus quid a month to send and receive emails on your behalf, and to click on a keyboard a few times !!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. This is of course true and I would advocate others to use a free service like Stepchange instead. I should have made the switch, I just never did. It's behind me now, what's done is done, and I don't intend to ever go back to that kind of position again so hopefully Stepchange will never need to hear from me anyway.0

Any of the ex Barclaycard - PRA (T) Group getting bombarded with PRA phone calls this week?
They have tried to contact me twice a day all week? Saying I MUST contact them?
Found an email on one of their letters today so just sent the Stop Phoning, I withdraw all persmission to speak to me, writing only etc etc.
Lets see if they stop.
I always put my nice little final sentence,I will not be doing any reviews or discussing the amount I pay, you get my payment, this will not change so either accept it or not, I don't care.
I bloody love dealing with DCAs when the debt is sold on. They have as much bite as a 2 day old baby :rotfl:0 -

Hi BB
I love your attitude :T No phone calls here, but then I have installed a call blocker and think I have just about blocked every number PR@T have
PR@T don't have our BC account yet, but I anticipate they will do soon as the £1 token payments have finally made BC close both accounts - I know this because it tells me so when I try to log into the accounts now. All interest and charges stopped - lots refunded after arguments and threats of ombudsman.
PR@T do hold some of our accounts but as they are call blocked, if they want to communicate with us they know they have to write.
I especially love the comment that you will not be carrying out a review....must copy and paste that into my letters :beer:DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
I must be a little odd as I like talking to them....:DChristmas 2020 £109
I love my dmp started in Nov 13 with SC. Self Managed 2016 57% done

LOL, Speaking to them doesn't faze me, I just like to be awkward
Honestly puzz & Jan, no more messing, it's my DMP ethos now. What can they do? Take me to court? Never going to happen and I will be done in just over 2 years now.
The BC / PRA(T) thing was odd. Mine and Mrs BBs BC went to PRA group a month apart. Mine went over fully and I now pay PRA, but Mrs BB is still with BC even though they said it was going over last SEPTEMBER?
It's annoying because we still only pay £5 a month token to that account, so it will still be left at the end at this rate.
Barclaycard are the most difficult company to deal with.0 -
PRA (T) just rang again, 2nd time today. I feel an FCA complaint coming on.
I secretly love the game though0
