Well done January..:) Looks like our luck with BC was short lived and they have gone back on their word. Out of interest, how long did you have to resort to £1 payments to get them to drop the interest?

The've finally back dated and refunded all the late charges and interest charges - just under £900 refunded :j
Roll on the promised defaults on both BC accounts (although I am not holding my breath it will happen, they have said they will do this);)
Great news Janxx

It sounds Ploppy like BC are quoting the timescales set by the FCA on complaint handling and the deadline is 4th July?
The annoying thing is that the FOS will not intervene until you have a final response from BC. They always give time for the parties to negotiate a satisfactory outcome before they will get involved. Unfortunately I have been through this although not with BC. It's a waiting game although you may get your final response from BC before 4th July hopefully.
The thing is, this is the 3rd offical complaint we have made and after the last one, we had written confirmation from them that the interest would be definitely stopped, as we said how on earth did they expect us to pay off the debt when they amount of interest was more than the amount we were paying. They apologised profusely and said definite no more interest and accounts would be defaulted within 7 months....then the following month we start getting interest added on again!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Totally rubbish of BC. I think I'd try something more radical like writing to the newspaper or MP (slightly dodgy if you wanted to remain anon), or someone on here once hot success by writing to the CEO of one of the creditors, I think she'd just got to the end of tether with their crapness. Might take some investigating to get the correct name to write to. Spill out the whole story...this is the third complaint and last time in xx month/year they said xyz etc. worth a try since they really can't get their act together for you.
Or maybe consider attempt to try focussing their corporate mind by going to token payments ?
One of the few good things that worked out for me last year was a BC default (and no interest) as I'd had to go to token payments. About 9-10 months I think it took.
Whatever you decide to do or not do, don't let them get you down, they really are not worth it.

If you have 'final responses' from your previous complaints to BC and we are still within 6 months of the date of one of those responses then you can go through the process with the FOS. Best tell them that out of desperation you complained again and ask them to get involved.
You absolutely will get the right result sooner or later. Pity about the lingering 'crapness' getting in the way (great expression there)

Guys it's been said many many times all though these threads, Barclaycard only work in numbers. You will only get the action you want by either stopping paying them, or dropping your payment to £1 a month until the finally get the message. January has done this and as you can see it took 6 months. I did the same last year and only took 1 month to stop the interest but 8 months to get the default I posted above.
Dealing with BC via Stepchange you are on a hiding to nothing because they will not reduce the payment. You can only deal successfully with BC by yourself when you decide who gets what.
Sorry if you want the comfort blanket of Stepchange, but if that is the case then you will always struggle with Barclaycard.
Anyway on the BB DMP happier note, my self managed payments went today and now I'm back on full payments to PRA(T) / ex BC my numbers are shooting downalmost at the 40% paid mark !!

Hi DMPers, lurker here finally ready to post.
Had my moment of clarity before christmas (7 debts in total = almost £50K between me and my husband), managed to get HSBC to freeze charges and interest then. Spoke to Stepchange in January and sent letters to creditors in February. First payment went out 3 days ago and balances are starting to go down yay!
My only issue so far is that Natwest have continued to charge me interest on my overdraft even after my letter and phone conversations and also arranged and unarranged overdrafts charges totalling almost £150!
I want to write a letter of complain to see if I can get the charges refunded and possibly the interest also, as I've not used the account in years other than to pay in the interest and charges on the account.
I've had a quick search but I can't find a template, has anyone got one handy?
Thanks in advance0 -

BC were who we received a letter from saying they couldn't find a CCA so debt was unenforceable. This was originally for an Egg CC belonging to my DH. They have been very quick in sending out multiple letters since we stopped paying them and quite possibly even phonecalls (despite being told we will only deal in writing) which my DH has been ignoring because they phone in the mornings when he is trying to sleep after having been working nights. Anyway they are now saying they will default - this account doesn't show on noddle or clearscore so probably defaulted pretty early on as it was 2004 we started our dmp. If they default now will it show up again? I know the answer SHOULD be no but sCabot managed to default an account in Dec 2010 despite the DMP starting in March 2004. We disputed this at the time but it still shows on our report until Dec this year.
Secondly they have now passed the debt on to Credit Solutions. Do we need to do a CCA request to them or can we just send them a copy of the letter from BC saying the debt is unenforceable? The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.
