Sports Arbitrage Software - Scam or Opportunity?

Options
 I have received mail from GlobalSoft Technologies offering me the chance to buy software that will give me daily opportunities to make "guaranteed" profits on Sports Arbitrage Betting. The software costs around £5000!, but they say that by starting with £1000 and taking arbitrage bets each day at 1% profit will produce £42000 in a year.
Is this a scam, or too good to miss? Has anyone heard of them/had any experience of the company/software? What would you advise?
Thanks for your input...

Too good to be true SCAM!
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
  • are you already familiar with arbitrage betting? If not have a look at the gambling introductory offers board. Arbitrage gambling is profitable but there are significant pitfalls (limits and palpable errors), and I suspect that Jonbvn is quite right, this will be a scam.

scam - all of the information is available free of charge. you just need the brain, time, organisation skills to make it work.

    Its a scam.

There is money to be made from sports arbing and 1% of the total stake per transaction isn't unrealistic with a lot of work - but asking £5k for the software is very unreasonable. Screen scrapers are available at a fraction of that price.

Also the capacity for error (especially if you dont know what you are doing) is high - and it is very easy to wipe out a couple of months profits with a simple mistake.

If that area interests you start with matched betting (details on the gambling offers board) and build up some capital/get some experience.

Even at the best of times, arbing software will alert so many people right away when an arb is found that by the time you get to it, it'll have rebalanced and will be worthless.

You're far better off just watching the horses every day for yourself!

I would sign up at the telephone preference service if you don't want more of these calls: http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ Having said that if they're properly dodgy then they probably won't take any notice of the tps status :(
