I have this quite old now Tom Tom Go 720 sat nav. I serves us fairly well.
This is my question, I regularly update it on the computer so why would I need new maps as it suggest. I would have thought the updates take care of any new roads etc.
Also on the M25 our lovely lady who directs us makes not mention of Junction 23 i.e. "keep right" if we wish to continue on the M25. I would register this anomaly if I knew how to, but I don't.
Any suggestions welcome

I think you may have just answered your own question.0 -
"Updates" only update the operating software. Updated maps must be purchased, they are updated 4 times per year.0

How often did you used to replace your paper atlas?
Map updates are a money spinner and not really needed during the lifetime of the unit, roads don't change that much, that you need to have a new map.
If a new roundabout suddenly appears in front of me but is unknown by the sat-nav, I can usually deal with it
Most of the updates to maps are changes to POIsChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

Both mine are but I still can't be bothered with them.
The Live services and cameras are a much better addon but I don't have to pay for it so maybe I'd change my mind if I didChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -
