Smelly Bin Cupboard

I think you need to make sure that air can circulate in there! Is there any way you can leave the door slightly ajar? It could well be that the door is shut tight that no movement of air can happen and it is just sitting there in this vapid stench!
I would look at getting some masonry paint, cleaning the whole cupboard out and then painting it on the inside and then get a sheet of plastic that can go on the floor that can be taken out and washed down!
Look up at the roof of the cupboard as well make sure something isn't up there as well. I would also go into one of the pound shops and get those stick on plastic freshner things and keep one of those in there on the go! You can stick it to the inside of the door and that should help - but only after you have sorted out the rest!
The only thing that I would ever suggest for this would be caustic soda - but you have to really really watch what you are doing with that stuff because you can burn yourself - but I will tell you, whatever it is that stuff WILL clear it!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Put a cheap air freshener in there - one of these fragance oils with wooden sticks sticks resting in oil stixking out of the bottle. My husband can't stand them and says they stink they hiuse out so perhaps they would overwhelm any nasty smells in your cupboard!0

Thanks for all the ideas everyone. We've only recently moved into this flat so maybe you're right it has been an ongoing problem but summer makes it worse.
I've left the door open all day and have constantly put more bleach down. I've scrubbed the whole of the cupboard, all the sides and even the door.
The other problem is that there's a massive square hole in the cupboard which connects to our coat cupboard. The smell travels through to our coats! I've managed to block it up with a piece of plaster board and some duct tape.
Thanks for the ideas I'll give them a go.0
