Finding REALLY old shares??

My dad bought shares in 1963 and 1964 in Reserves Securities Trust Limited (an investment trust or a unit trust I imagine).
The registrars back then on the share certificate were Minster Trust Group Services Ltd.
I have failed to find out what happened to "Reserves Securities Trust Limited". I assume it was long ago acquired by another investment house; but all I have are the 1960s share certificates.
How would I find out what happened to the company???
