Golf GTE hybrid

The GTE seemed to do everything I need a car to do, my commute is 3.2 miles but I do on call once or twice a week and I need to get in to work pretty quick - it is for operating theatres - we only do elective surgery so we don't have night staff but patients do sometimes have to come back out of hours so I need a reliable vehicle.
I was swayed towards the GTE because of the lower running costs and the 2 year lease.
I think you need one of these for your daily commute

But more seriously my commute is also identical to yours, I take the bike most days (quicker than driving through traffic), when I'm on-call/weekend etc I take the Leaf.
The Leaf deal I got at the end of Q1 this year when Nissan really seemed to be giving them away - £200/month - ZERO deposit - Once I added up the sums (+ Free government subsided home charger) it was as they say 'a no brainer'.
But not to worry about coming in at nights/weekends, soon Mr Hunt will be putting up tents for us in the hospital car park so that we can spend 100% of our lives at work.....Because apparently NO senior hospital doctors work at weekends, because everyone opts 'out', so all the doctors working with me last weekend must have been figments of my imagination...But I must have some serious memory issues because for the last 10 years I can remember seeing/consulting with hospital consultant regardless of day/time, one even came in at 3 am to help me with a particularly difficult patient, and when I was going home at 10am after my shift, he was already well into a out-patient list, clearly no-one told him he could 'opt-out' of on-calls :rotfl:.0
