Blocked kitchen sink- help

My kitchen sink is blocked again!
I think it is more a problem with the sink and pipe than what goes down it, as I do not use cooking oil and have one of those meatal things with small holes in to stop most things going down the plug hole!
I have tried `plug unblocker` fro wilkco-bought on special
Bicarb and white vinrgar
boiling water
bleach
drain outside is fine and sink does not have a u bend- its `lead` pipe thing old- think my kitchen is about 25-30 years old?
Any idesa, do not want to get a plumber in

You haven't mentioned a plunger. You can buy them cheaply in Poundshops, Wilkinsons etc. Cover the overflow hole with a rag and get plunging... will shift most things!
If that doesn't work I can't help thinking that the only answer would be to replace the pipes with modern plastic ones and a U bend. Then it would be easy to deal with problems in the future. It sounds like you have tried everything with the present system.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!
I'm not losing my hair... I'm getting more head!!0 -
I'll second the plunger suggestion - my sink was clogged solid with 15 years worth of coffee fines (the powdery bit of coffee grounds which had set like cement) - I was on the verge of using dynamite when I tried the plunger - hey presto, one clear set of pipes, and much safer than the lethal chemicals I had been pouring in for days.
Cautionary note - be VERY careful about using a plunger if you've already poured chemicals into the sink; the pressure could force the chemical into your face, so mask-up with safety gear.0 -
You can get those thin flexible wire thingies with a handle on the end, which you shove down the plughole and then turn... I got mine from B&Q and it's far better than any of the horrible chemicals!
Plungers are also fantastic as suggested above!0
