How to deal with an overgrown garden?

Will it be a good idea to start composting some of the plant rubbish? I know not to compost brambles, but I also have tons of Virginia creeper, honeysuckle, Buddleia, and grape vine, can these be composted?
Otherwise I have an awful lot to bin, and not enough space yet for a safe bonfire, and I have the ammonium sulfamate that can be used legally as a compost accelerant!!
(I am in the UK, but when reading about how to deal with Virginia creeper, I was reading a USA website which suggested ammonium sulfamate)
It is only a smallish garden (approx. 15x25ft). So far, I haven't yet found any roots to treat with weedkiller. I'm currently just chopping whatever I can reach of the great, twining, climber/creeper plants, all mixed together, along with tons of household rubbish my parents have dumped outside:mad:0 -
My garden is in a similar state, probably been neglected for five or probably more years. My weed patch at the front was transformed by a day's solid hard work. Not by me because I simply didn't know where to start.
Every single plant bar one was dug up. Beneath the weeds and rampant brunnera and euphorbia there were some very nice shrubs and ornamental grasses. They were put aside and when the bed was cleared they were repositioned to provide a structure. 6 huge sacks of plant material were consigned to the local tip (no capacity for a compost heap). I will have to hoe regularly to make sure the weeds don't re-establish themselves. The brunnera is particularly persistent. Cross fingers, with regular watering, the repositioned shrubs will survive.
The back garden will be getting a similar makeover but I doubt there is anything worth saving so it will be a scorched earth policy there.0
