Fixing voiles

I had until a few days ago some voiles in my living room window.
I used some sticky pad things to put them up. And they have been up for months and then suddenly fell down. Not sure if it was because of the heat we have had.
I stuck them back on. And tried to put the voiles back up. One of the pads fell off the wall and took some paint off
I really don't want to start drilling holes in my walls or use super glue. But at a loss what to do to fix them up. I do want something at the the windows as I have public foot path out side the house. So do want some privacy when sat in the living room.
I am keeping my curtains closed all day at the moment. Which is not to bad due to the weather. But would be nice to have some day light LOL!!

A tension rod like these http://www.dunelm.com/product/tension-rod-1000001663 - no drilling, no sticky pads, it just fits inside the window rebate.0

can't you just use the hoop/hook type system, and screw those hooks into the upvc/wood?
very small holes and no drilling required0 -
Ive just stapled my curtains to my pelmet, those babies aren't going anywhere....0

I've used the tension rods in the past, with good results (cheap ones too).
What you can do in the interim, until you get a proper fix, is to create a "loop" of whatever you've got handy - e.g. string, ribbon, material bits .... open each window and hold the loop at the edge of the window, then shut the window, which will hold the loop in place. One loop at the far side of each window and you can simply pop your existing rod into the two loop ends.
Be careful though because when you open those windows it'll fall on your head if you forget you did that (happened to me).0 -
Hi, I also use tension rods for my voiles. I've even put lightweight curtains across my french doors by using two rods together.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0
