I get ctc. Will lose some but that's life. My only thought was that I'll just have to earn more which is constant intention anyway. Yes I do work, I'm self employed.
I will be tightening my belt. Tomorrow I am cancelling my standing orders for my three charity donations for a start. Charity firmly begins at home from now on. If the charities ask why I will say due to pending government cuts I had to withdraw my support. If you wish to complain write to the Chancellor.

I wondered if you got WTC/CTC shegirl as you have a disabled nipper? Not sure if you work though?
If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?

I am weighing up whether I would be better off quitting my job and just going on ESA like a lot of disabled people. I wouldn't have to get up any more and can doss about in my PJs all day.

My boss wasn't exactly happy today when I said that due to government cuts to my disabled tax credits I may have to resign as I am unable to work more hours than I do now because of my health. Especially as my workplace just recently spent £8,500 on training for me. Ahh well any complaints they can raise them with Georgie.

well if you're capable of working at the moment, i assume the WRAG would be the best you can hope for. if you're happy to have £73 a week for 365 days, and then nothing due to your savings ... then go ahead!

Really? How have you figured it out? I've been trying all day! Lol

It's not absolutely clear how it is going to be implemented so different online calculators are predicting different amounts. The change in the threshold where tapering begins is a change to the WTC threshold but on here most people are assuming the threshold for CTC will change as well.

The general consensus is that everyone will lose around £1.2k for the change in threshold, and then an additional 7% for all income over about £6k (for the increase in taper rate from 41% to 48%). For an income of £44k that works out to about £3.9k.

Some online calculators are predicting much less than this, so this is kind of the worst case scenario.

It wouldn't though :( Full time I'd only earn another £300 a month and my childcare will go up massively. Atm I use the CTC to pay childcare. Sorry I don't understand? We will get £44 per annum?

Your childcare bill will go down if any of your children are aged 3-5 as you will be entitled to 30 hours a week free childcare instead of the current 15 hours.
Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............

You are living in a fantasy world if im being honest.
I have noticed on a few threads that you keep playing this same tune about this free child care.
Notice the OP mentions that her children will all be in school from September. Therefore irrelevant for the case of free childcare.
The free childcare doesn't even come into effect until September 2017 if im not mistaken.
Also just because the Government are saying they are offering 30 hours of free childcare, doesn't mean the childcare provider has to provide free childcare hours.
You haven't even taken into account that these day care centre's are mainly already at full capacity. So where are they going to find the extra capacity from? Who is going to subsidise them for the extra staff costs etc?
My own sons left day care a couple of years ago and at that point, that provider in question was filtering out free childcare and going private only. And you will see this more and more.
Dont believe the Government's bribes of this magical journey with the Tory party.

Some people have no idea on the reality of childcare. Childcare centres are being made to adhere to tighter and tighter rules and legislation which increase operating costs. Many are full and there are waiting lists or you can get care but not the number of hours you need to run a job alongside. It is best to ignore the Chancellors "childcare" sales speak as there are many hidden variables that make it sound amazing on the surface unless you are in the reality of it. A supermarket could give you a voucher for a product but then fail to stock the item. It is just the same with the free childcare.

This government it seems got in on the divisive selling citing they are for "hard working families". Yet now hard working families are being hit. What really is the government's definition of a "hard working family"? Clearly a family who are not reliant on any state freebies which means they would need to be earning about £60k a year to sustain a mortgage and outgoings. Basically every family will consider themselves to be "hard working" an therefore all families were sucked into the sales speak.

It is the same with the NMW. Why is that divisive on age. Why do younger workers earn less than older workers? That is just ageism of the highest order.

My disability is such that I would gain 15 points to be placed in the support group under a single descriptor. Aside from any other descriptors I would score on. If the DWP disagreed with that at the first application I would seek to get it overturned at tribunal. Of course costing the DWP extra money and effort spent in resources answering the case.

Savings of course can be very easily burned through. I fancy an extra car for a start and maybe a few holidays if I give up work. I'd have the widest Sky package installed and buy a few new TVs. All the bits and pieces I have gone without to accumulate said savings pot.

But that would be deprivation of capital? So you'd still end up with nothing
