Help with a cheque please

Jonjon
Hi this is my first post
I have today received a cheque from jet2 after a winning claim for compensation, however they have spelt my first name incorrectly as jonathon, it should be Jonathan - will this be a problem? I have the jet2 letter which holds my address which the bank has same address , I also have the original booking ref, but I'm not sure how strict banks are with this kind of thing? Thanks in advance

Cash it. See if it bounces. It's unlikely to be an issue. If it is play stupid and demand apologizes all around0

Should be fine in all honesty, I'm sure people called Stuart, Anthony, Graham (to throw a few) don't have issues?

Thanks guys
Hope your right
It's been a 3 year battle with jet2 , so close to the finishing line and they send this cheque with slight error!0 -
No, it won't.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

As long as the surname is correct you shouldn't have a problem, I accept cheques that have a obvious spelling or typing errors.
if your cheque had just said Jon, it would still be accepted, if you have an deposit machine then use that instead if you don't want a conversation or issuesI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. It should be ok - with a little bit of common sense - I would pay it at a counter rather than one of those automated machines just in case.
eg You could get cheques in name of Tony Jones paid into an account of A Jones (as long as the A stands for Anthony).0 -
I doubt they will even notice - my OH managed to pay a cheque into my daughter's account accidentally which clearly had my very different name on it."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
