How to clean underside of cooker hood?

My cooker hood has grease dripping from the underside, as well as hardenned stuff that is hard to remove.
Mr Muscle recommends spraying onto the surface and leaving for 15 minutes, but it won't stay on for 15 minutes as as it just drips off.
How can I clean it effectively?

Is the part you're spraying removable? It is on mine.Stompa0

It's extremely tedious, but I spray Fairy Powerspray onto a cloth and wipe it over the underside of the hood and leave it for half an hour or so.
Wipe off and repeat as many times as necessary.
It's the only method that has worked for me.0 -
