ball-park figure for a new garage

Hi, wondered if anyone can help please.
I would like a new garage but wondered if I can afford it. So I would be grateful if anyone can give me a very rough idea of what it would cost, before I go to the time & trouble of getting plans & quotes etc....
Not even any idea of size, other than must be able to fit a moderately sized family car!
Standard brick construction with a pitched roof, side door & window. Also to have an electricity supply.
It will be sited at the side of the house where there is currently a raised part of the garden which will need to be dug out to a depth of about 2 feet.
So I will either need to have the back wall & one side wall tanked, or else site the garage further away from the remaining garden & build retaining walls around it instead.
East Manchester area
