Lenovo Tablet/John Lewis/Already Opened?

Options
I bought a Lenovo 13" Tablet online from John Lewis, when I opened the package I noticed the sticky security label on the Tablet box had been cut through & another label was stuck on top. I immediately thought this box has been opened, perhaps it was a return/refurbished.

I contacted customer service, received a returns number, they ordered a replacement, & to my surprise the replacement had the same label problem. Of course the staff at Waitrose couldn't really help except to say "don't worry, if you don't like it send it back, remember you've got a 2 year guarantee"

How can I be sure this tablet is new, there was nothing on the Drive but a factory re-set would take care of that. I'm not convinced this tablet is unused, has any one else had this problem?

Does the screen have stuck down advertising type of film .
Does the bits in the box look clean and unused .

You might be better dealing with John Lewis store rather than Waitrose .

Yes the film is attached to the screen, looks like smudges on the back of the case, the accessories seem OK, the box is slightly scuffed.

I agree, I would rather travel to John Lewis but it's such a trek, if it wasn't for the 2 year guarantee I would have bought it from a local store.

It matters to me, I don't want to pay full price for second hand goods.

check that it is genuine UK stock , many less scrupulous supplier's would supply imported ones (made for other countries) open the boxes and change the PSU for an aftermarket UK one

as I posted above you , however if it arrived with a foreign plug , it was not intended for the UK.

I seem to recall a few yrs ago , that one of the larger phone suppliers were removing the expensive genuine chargers from boxes and replacing them with "tat"
