Hiya,
I'm at the end of my contract and need to switch providers. Therefore I need to unlock my iPhone.
To do this I need to access my iTunes account on my laptop, unfortunately my laptop is dying and very very slow. My iTunes account won't load properly. So I have tried deleting and reinstalling it but, alas, it's saying I need windows 7 or later (I have vista). So I tried downloading windows 7, but this failed too!
Can anyone help?
Can I simply access my iTunes account on my fiance's laptop?? And if I do that, will I wipe all his music and photos?

Because 3 have told me this is what I need to do to unlock my phone. They said I need to go into my iTunes account0

AFAIK, you can (have to?) connect using the iPhone, not a laptop. If you’ve recently bought or upgraded an iPhone from Three, it'll be unlocked as soon as you activate it over Wi-Fi or connect it to iTunes on your computer.
If your device is running iOS7 or above, you can connect to iTunes and do a restore of your device to unlock it. You may want to back up your content before doing this, as restoring your device will delete all its data.0 -

Unfortunately, my laptop is broken and won't let me use iTunes.
If I log onto iTunes on my fiance's computer, will that work?
Or will it wipe all of his content?0 -

I don't know why you need to use iTunes to unlock your iPhone; simply insert the new SIM and you'll be greeted with a brief 'set up' screen on your device. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0

You can do it with your computer with internet access or you can do it with the phone directly with wifi. Change the phones settings to backup to iCloud and then tell it to do a backup and it will become unlocked if 3 have done their job0
