I haven't tried using IE as I,(and many others), won't use it.

There are no downloads re the little blue,(black in my case), arrow at the top right of screen.

Do you use an adbocker to stop you seeing unwanted adverts? You should as an ad probably tricked you to download that rubbish.

I have downloaded Foxit reader 7, see post 7.
I am pretty sure I run an adblocker as I don't get any adds popping up.

There is no "default programs" in Control Panel, but I do know Foxit is my only PDF reader as of 1p.m. yesterday, I can see this by right clicking a PDF file > open with, the only PDF opener in the window that appears is Foxit Reader.



Adobe 10 set up exe is on my desktop but will not set up, if I left click the egg-timer appears then goes away, if I right click then "Open" the same happens.

Im confused at your refusal to use IE.
I understand that many PREFER not to use it .. I am included in that list.

But if using it is a method to fix your problems, and you still refuse to do so, then I will leave you too it in the hope that someone lese has loads of time to pick through your problems for you.

Just tried this again, it won't open.

I downloaded it and installed it, but when opening I get the same message:-

"Mbam.exe – Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d). Click on OK to terminate the application"

According to this post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=68738315&postcount=25 Malwarebytes are having problems.


I have just tried downloading and installing using IE and get the same results as in post #14 above.

Remember you are running XP which does not meet system requirements for running Foxit 7/Adobe 10. You need older versions.

Run Malwarebytes (link provided earlier if latest version still causing problem.)

I have Foxit 7 installed and working as per post #7, (the crash window has not popped up this morning).

Problem now is Malwarebytes, if you look at my post #15 the link is to one of your posts re Malwarebytes.
