I got mine from B & Q cost £201 for my lounge which is the biggest room in the house...and am going to try and do the same this year with my son's bedroom I needed 10 pack's so am guessing that's how many I'll need for the bedroom as they are the same...just different way's round...I got 3 carpet place's to come and they all quoted around £460 for a carpet so laminate will be cheaper...and cleaner...:Dhi all just wondered if anyone knew of some cheap laminate flooring or carpet i could buy for my sons bedroom?
Any advice appreciated

I'm having laminate fitted today the guy is here now. It was OH that said we should replace the carpet with it.
What I have seen of it 1/3 of it down, I'm already really not liking it..........
What a waste of reclaimed bank charges.........

I much prefer laminate, it is so much easier to clean, dust-free and IMHO looks better than old carpet.
B and Q is usually good value.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Buy CARPET if you Son is at all susceptible to allergies or breathing problems!
Carpet will trap dust and particles from the air. If you choose laminate these particles will hang in the air and will be breathed in.
There was a study done in Scandinavia and there is a direct connection between the decline in carpet sales and the increase in breathing problems.
Check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfJUJiUFN3Y about half way through the subject of carpet versus laminate comes up.0 -
I never liked laminate, had carpets in my old house in the bedrooms etc. Since buying my house with laminate in, I wouldn't put carpets in the bedrooms again, rather buying rugs. Laminate is so much easier to clean and if I look at the dust etc I sweep up off the laminate, I hate to think of all that sitting in the carpets!!

I am a laminate convert!0 -
Here's the graph showing carpet useage versus allergies:0

Here's the graph showing carpet useage versus allergies:
At the same time the amount of cleaning products and the use thereof has escalated. Everything is drowned in anti-bacterial products. Therefore we are not giving our children's immune system sufficient time to develop. One should just damp dust. Also, the consumption of ready meals has increased and therefore so has the in-take of preservers etc.0 -
I've had asthma for about 15 year's an adult thing...and my doctor told me to get rid of the carpet's which I have and my breathing has got much better...I used to have to go into hospital once a year now I don't have to it has improved my breathing...just keep on top of the dust that's all...use a sweeping brush around the place then suck it up the hoover...job done in 10 min's flat...yea they do an underlay it's £9.99 for my lounge I had to get 2 rolls....16 foot x 10.5 foot cost £20 but worth it...as it stop's the dust coming up from the floor boards...

and the trim is £4.95 I needed 10 which is £50 extra to go around the edge of the laminate...
