    It could be coated in renaissance wax, or similar to help protect the patina too.


    Do you have any citric acid to hand? No idea if it will remove the patina successfully BUT it's what I pickle my work in after soldering to remove the oxidation caused by that and flux. May be worth a try. Likewise with white vinegar and salt. It may remove it but it may not. Either way it would need need polishing after and then a little clean up with an old toothbrush and washing up liquid.
