twitter impersonator

Options
My son has a you tube channel with many viewers, also a twitter account with over 40,000 followers, someone has been impersonating
him for over 2 weeks on twitter, my son has blocked him everyday but he keeps opening an other account with variations on his name.
The police have done nothing, and it does not appear on twitter that you can do much about it.
We think he is from Pakistan trying to muscle in on my son's business, we have his ip address but nobody seems to be able do do anything about it.
There was obscene things sent to my wife's account as well as his twin brother.
Just so annoying that nothing can be done to stop this!!
Any ideas?

If as you say he's from Pakistan what do you want the police to do ?

Continue to block him, surely they will get bored of it.

They said he was probably from the next village !!
Police only came round when informed that he was planning to bomb American Airlines and British Airway flights (impersonator).
Thought they would have better contacts than we have.

They could be. An IP address cannot be used to identify a person or their location.

On Internet many people pretend to be in the US or UK, when they're not, so they can watch TV programmes via the Internet from those countries.

Respected retailer QVC even sells a USB stick that will hide your IP address and location.

Can your son make twitter accounts with variations of his name (doesn't have to use them), to crowd the impersonator out?
