AA car insurance about to renew

I have been sent my AA car renewal notice (£185) which they say will automatically renew on the 11th (which I didn't opt for)

Moneysupermarket offers a cheaper £175 with a years free breakdown cover (something I will need as my Auto Aid runs out on the same date) I could cancel and re-apply via Top Cashback and earn an extra £20 but I am not sure if going to Moneysupermarket or Go Compare via Top Cashback will earn me the £20 as well as the £2.02

I would like to stay with the AA but I am not sure which is the best way to go before the 11th.

Also, is there any way of opting for the old design of this site as the new layout is horrible.

If you didnt opt out of the auto renew then you automatically opted in.

Check the smallprint does it exclude customers who have been with them within the last 12 or 13 months?

I did opt out. Even if I didn't. I still have 14 days to get a refund.

    No charges.
  • Cancelling your car insurance policy

You may not need to cancel your policy, because we can offer you an alternative quotation.
If you do decide to cancel your policy

If you need to cancel your policy contact AA Insurance Services on 0844 412 4684.
You will, for a period of 14 days from the date you receive your policy documentation or the date you enter into the contract (whichever is the later), have a right to cancel this policy and receive a refund (unless you have made a total-loss claim). This refund will be subject to a charge from your Insurer for the period of cover you have received, with a minimum charge of £15, and AAIS may retain its arrangement fee of £28.
Where cover has not commenced prior to the end of this 14-day period, you will be entitled to a full refund of the premium you have paid and a full refund of any AAIS arrangement fee.
Beyond the above period, you will still be entitled to cancel this policy, however further terms and conditions will apply in these circumstances. Full details of the action you need to take and the conditions upon which this right applies can be found in your policy booklet.
Please see the car insurance policy booklet for full terms and conditions.

You will not be paying then so nothing to charge for or get a refund for.

Phone up your insurers and discuss it with them - my insurers gave me a 22% discount on the quoted renewal price yesterday when I phoned them!

It was Admiral - I was quite shocked as I've only previously been able to get them to drop around 10-15%.

It's nice to have my car insurance dropping in price when all the reports I read say it's going up!
