Once again, apologies for this being a very old thread, but I'm still using this to diarise my financial situation and provide an update to anyone who might be interested (which I expect is no-one!)
After starting my new job in September last year with a 9k pay rise from the previous, it seems I proved I was worth more as this month a further 6k pay rise will be included in my wagesThis has essentially doubled my income in the past 3 years.
As of last month, I had no outstanding credit despite a trip to Abu Dhabi and Rhodes in the past two months. I have also transferred my sister's equity in the house to myself and am now the sole owner.
It may have been a less than desirable financial decision, however I did purchase a 1 year old car this month using a first direct bank loan. I should probably regret this, but I don'tAlthough I don't have an emergency fund, I will now be in a position to create one despite this loan.
I've also just celebrated my 1 year anniversary with my OH, who is independent and driven (despite having a slight holiday addiction!) and splits any activity we share 50/50.
It's so rewarding seeing my hard work and perseverance pay off, after 5 full years of sacrificing my spare time and rubbing pennies together just to get by. Hopefully if anyone reading this is still in that position this can show it's not impossible to get out of it!

Couldn't you cycle to Lime Street? For those wondering, Earlestown Station is in Newton-le-Willows (in fact it appears to be the town centre station!). You could still utilise a folding bike by parking somewhere safer as well as free, e.g. an out-of town supermarket.
My ex did have a higher sexual appetite than me, but I left heryou don't think everyone has to have the exact same level of sex drive do you?!
