Think of the term "mule account" if you need to apply non-computer logic to it. The term "mule" in the real world applied to "drug mule". eg a way of trying to break the law without being caught, while it might not be "go to jail" law its "Origin we can and will ban you can close your account with all those shiny games and points" law.
Perhaps an opportunity to teach your child that in real life you have to work hard to get the things you want and not everything is instant gratification?0 -
At 13 he's more than old enough to be introduced to things the harsh & brutal way - sit him down & inform him that what he's doing is stupidity & WILL get him banned. Ask him if all his mates were jumping off a cliff into a pool of starving sharks would he be willing to do it as well?
I weep for humanity that we baby teenagers so much that imparting common sense is now rendered pointless cos they're too thick to get it....Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Thank you for the further input. I appreciate you taking the time to post.
I do feel that calling teenagers thick is a bit harsh. I feel that they are just too immature as yet to see the bigger picture and have yet to develop good impulse control.
Anyway, I am very glad to have been able to back up my own reasons against getting these coins with those of others.
Thanks again.

The account is actually through me, as he is 13. I have pointed out the rules to him, but the old chestnut of 'everyone else is doing it' keeps coming up.
Then there's the old chestnut of if someone told him to jump off a bridge would he do it?
Just because everyone else is doing it, you know what will happen, sods law will strike and he'll be the one that gets caught.
For Fifa 16, havent EA set maxium figures for players to be sold therefore getting rid of this problem? Forgive my ignorance, I thought the way it worked was that you 'did a deal' with someone selling coins, you then put a crappy bronze player up for sale for a riddiculous amount of say one million coins then the person you did a deal with buys that player off you.
With 16, the crappy bronze player would only be able to be sold for say a maximum of 1000 coins and therefore you would need a super star player card in the first place to sell to the other person to get the millions of coins?
Unless I have got it wrong...
Get him Xbox Points as opposed to trying to buy coins then if he wants to spend £10, £15 £25 etc buying Fifa points, thats up to him. Dont risk losing your account - it'll be your fault then!0 -

I must admit my first thought was "if their mates jumped off a cliff would they?"
What happened to games just being games? I despair.
Please don't give in to pester power and indulge in illegal activity. I was always taught that you don't get things you don't work for, it's the same in games.
Also, as a PP mentioned, if you buy them the coins and they get banned (either for the transaction or if the mule account is traced) then it'll be your fault because you "should have known better"...

Some people out there like to be the best at the game and it all goes to they're head and when they lose/get owned they get annoyed/upset.0 -

It's ridiculous. When I was a young 'un and had 2-4 player games, we practised to become the best. We didn't pay for it!
(And this is part of the reason I cannot stand online play games. I love Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, and anything else I can play on my tod and get a story out of and "complete".)
As a wise girl once said "At least none of the Gryffindor team had to BUY their way in. They got in on pure talent."

You only have to listen to the crap some people say online when they get beat or get owned by someone on the other team.0
