I have an IPad at present running IOS 7. A while ago I downloaded the Cartoon HD app ( when it was available from Apple. Apart from a few hiccups, it was a really cool app. Then it stopped working on IOS devices. Recently on their Facebook page, they have announced that the app is working again but not the original app. Need to download it again, but when I click on it, it's telling me that I need to jailbreak the Ipad through Cydia. Now, I've no idea what this means and have to say I don't think I want to do this. Any information on this would be appreciated. I do have MovieTube and it's a brilliant app, but Cartoon HD was better for kiddies.

Any App not available by the Apple App Store raises alarm bells. It may be the content is illegal (ie they don't have the rights to show it) or it may do something untoward to your system. My understanding is its the former, they show content that's not licensed or paid for
There has recently been a case where an App was removed by Google as it was sending premium rate SMS's in the background, while not directly relevant here, its an example of what can happen if you circumvent the inbuilt system security, which is what Jail breaking can do.
If you unsure at all leave it unjailbroken to help protect your data.0 -
Thanks folks. I won't be jailbreaking. My Ipad isn't under warranty any more, but I do sometimes take it into the Apple store if I have an issue that I can't work out. They usually sort it for me. I think they wouldn't be so accommodating if I did this. I'll stick with MovieTube.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0
