The holiday price online was based on two people sharing hence why I phoned and asked for four people sharing which made it more expensive. Fair enough. But it's not, it's two lots of two people sharing. Hotel say they only have rooms left available for two sharing. If this was the case when I booked I should surely have just been told that they couldn't accommodate my needs? Rahhhh!!

Yeah, you should, but some companies don't care about customer service and some reps are just in it to make sales/meet targets/earn commission

When booking, they clearly did tell you what they could provide.
    You told us earlier:

The guy on the phone said it will be two bedrooms. Happy with that!
Why on earth did you assume that that met your needs?

You could've helped yourself by asking a simple question at the time of booking, something like "is that two bedrooms within a suite, or is it something else"?

Obviously some miscommunication here, and you must accept some responsibility for that.

As suggested above, contact the hotel directly and explain your requirements.

Would you be happy (bearing in mind the potential loss of the total amount of your holiday which is £950) if the hotel can guarantee you 2 rooms next door to each other?

I think it comes down to how you expressed your specific requirement and what offer the sales agent came back to you with.

If this company doesn't record phone calls, it will come down to 'he said, I said'.

Being as I'd been quoted a holiday for four people sharing I "assumed" it would be two bedrooms in the same suite. Wouldn't you?

No. I would've asked for a suite not - Two bedrooms - which is what you asked for and seemed to be happy with.

I believe they also trade as clearsky holidays- check tripadvisor, the reviews are awful. I booked with them last night- had to pay an extra £49 each for better flight times, because apparently no flights available at different time. Liars- I checked ryanair and theres loads available.

They called me back today and said they could refund me £80...I had paid them £278 13hrs previously. absolutely fuming. Indian call centre, constantly engaged. nightmare.

ps. if i booked a holiday for an apartment with two bedrooms, I would expect the rooms to be in the same apartment.

    And so would I.

The OP did not book an apartment with two bedrooms though.

There's a difference between an apartment and a hotel.

    As I posted earlier:

I book a lot of our holidays on line.
On the websites I use, they tend to say '1 bedroom apartment sleeps 4' or '2 bedroom apartment sleeps 4'.

If I booked either of the above, I'd expect either all 4 to sleep in the same room or have 2 bedrooms in the same self contained unit.

Hotels are different, unless you specifically book a suite you will get 2 rooms - which as the OP has discovered may not necessarily be connecting or even adjacent.

it's probably simple to sort - just ring the hotel directly and ask for connecting or adjoining rooms. a very common request in hotelkeeping :)
