Restriction on prooerty title - advice please

Hi
I purchased my home February 2013.

We are in process of moving from a mortgage in my sole name with Halifax to another mortgage with Halifax, however we are adding my husband to the mortgage. So now its all with solicitors.

It's been with them since February!!

The hold up is there is a restriction on the title preventing a transfer of equity being registered without consent from Orbit Homes - the builder we purchased from.

Orbit have had this letter to sign for months... I don't really understand why they have a say over my home. But should I be worried this is taking so long?
The solicitors don't seem overly concerned. But it's starting to worry me now!

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Orbit Homes are a social housing organisation - they have put this restriction in to ensure that they retain control of the development.

It would have been in the contract you signed.

I would write a letter to the CEO telling them that you are loosing money in higher interest rates, and you'll be expected him to pay the difference in rates - unless it is sorted within 7 days.

Thankyou for your response. I'll look into sending the letter. I just need to call my solicitors to gain the exact date that this was sent to orbit and exactly how long they have had it.

    Many thanks
