Have a look for yourself, and see what you think. If you think they're good deals, go ahead. I'm not especially desperate for your judgements one way or the other, to be honest. Often it works for me; sometimes it's not the best deal out there and I'll choose another route. The OP was asking about good ways of getting hotel room deals; this is one tried and tested route and there's a helpful thread on MSE with all sorts of finds, deals and advice.Reason for edit? I assume by the link and inability to say which hotel it was that this is fictitious then.
As long as you enjoyed the day dream then.0 -
I've just been sitting watching certain hotel prices, and they definitely appear to have dropped quite significantly from earlier in the day. I will need to note down the prices throughout the day to confirm.
If hotels are indeed dropping their prices significantly during the last hour, you could put your luggage in a railway station locker, enjoy the day, and then try and book at the last minute (fingers crossed.)

I don't know if this some sort of glitch - look at the Glenmoriston Town House, Inverness (12th-12th.) Reduced from £630 a night to £90!?

Think the £630 was an error. Looking at random dates in the future they are all quoting around £110-£140 which makes more sense for a 4* property in Inverness.
Certainly looking at some booking sites you see some very spurious looking "normally" or "reduced from" type numbers, have seen a few hotels where you're normally talking £500 a night in London and Hotels.com say its reduced from £2,000 to £450 where as other sites are saying its reduced from £500 to £450.0 -
Yes, InsideInsurance, I think you are right. Probably an error. I was looking at booking prices yesterday on various sites. There were certainly fluctuations during the day, but I didn't see any evidence of any major price drop across the board after 11pm.

In a similar predicament. Staying at Chertsey Travelodge 19th-21st August for visiting the 3 nearby theme parks (Legoland, Thorpe Park and Chessington.) But now we are considering going a day earlier but the hotels in the area (approx 10-15mile) radius are out of budget. Preferably looking for the 18th August under £50 which is a big ask.
We were considering taking a chance and booking either the night before or on the day.0 -

Not sure if it's a good idea, unless there are lots of alternative hotels in the area? If there is high demand on those dates, I'd imagine prices could rise.
Cheers

Yeah that's understandable but we are in a good position where we have the flexibility to travel or not travel on the 18th. One of those last minute things where if we find a good deal that fits the budget we can travel. We can buy the relevant theme park tickets beforehand. But thank you for the advice.0
